Why Scholars' Circle?

•    Scholars’ Circle membership represents a unique opportunity for you to personally enhance the educational experience for your child(ren) and others in our community. The difference is you!

•    Be a leader! Please join us in continuing the tradition of major donor support established in Rancho Santa Fe fifteen years ago. There are a limited number of philanthropic families who care deeply about education and have the capability and interest to rise above others by investing in our school in a meaningful way. Scholars’ Circle contributors provide necessary seed capital to build a better tomorrow for our children.

•    A small group of philanthropic leaders in our community can and does make a big difference. Of the $1,032,070, raised last year by the RSF Education Foundation, $495,359, or approximately 48% of the total, was contributed by 88 Scholars’ Circle Members (only 20% of the 436 families with children attending school). Critical financial support received by enlightened and generous community leaders is an essential element of our school’s ongoing capability and development.

•    Scholars’ Circle members enable the school to positively differentiate itself and meet its defined vision of “inspiration through revolutionary education” and critical value of creating an “engaging, inspiring and rigorous educational experience.”

•    Scholars’ Circle members’ contributions directly support our school’s “Five-Star Education” program – 1) Small Class Size (average 18 versus 32 at other California public schools), 2) Specialized Teachers (nearly 61% of our teachers have advanced and specialized degrees in their field, 3) Literacy Excellence (dedicated teachers - a 1:10 teacher to student ratio - employing the Columbia University reading and writing program), 4) Integrated Science (best practices of traditional and innovative science teaching methodologies integrated into the curriculum), and 5) Differentiated Mathematics (enrichment and intervention programs differentiated to meet the needs of all students).

•    Scholars’ Circle members provide critical funding for the school budget that allows us to make long-term commitments to faculty and special programs. Our financial strength enables us to hire and retain the highest quality teachers and administrators. Moreover, the ability to assure educators that their employment is secure allows us to maintain continuity and reduce turnover. Our commitment to special programs fundamentally improves the administration’s approach towards the educational process and the related curriculum for our children.

•    Significant contributions enable us to increase our existing endowment which is used to provide a long-term source of financial security and establish a permanent well-being for our school and community.
